美歌手Roland Kent LaVoie出道甚早，1961 ( 18 ) 就加入佛里州地的一The Rumours ( 成有後加入The Byrds的Gram Parsons、及助用供The Bellamy Brothers至加州展的人Jim Stafford )，之後又加入其他。1964，在The Sugar Beats遇到了作人Phil Gernhard，行了第一首曲 ( 翻唱Johnny Rivers的《What Am I Doing Here》)，1966及1969也都各再行了一首，可惜都未跨排行榜的。

1971，LaVoie改名Lobo ( 西班牙意「灰狼」)，Gernhard也至Big Tree唱片公司任行，替Lobo出了他人的第一首曲，即此首《Me and You And a Dog Named Boo》，不知是改名後的好是怎？此曲竟然分在美、英排行榜拿下第5第4名，也成Lobo一炮而的成名曲。

Lobo事後回，他的首歌，包含了和女子在全到旅行的首，而在歌中一直想使用「you and me」的，得不太容易，後回到佛里的家中，定改成「me and you」。又他所的德狼犬Boo正角落走且看著他，也他生感，何不狗也加入歌曲中？的合竟然很快的完成了此曲。Lobo也承，除了治，他未去歌曲中所提到的其他地方。

歌，像是一嬉皮男女著老到旅，且在偷蛋(？)被逮到，以打工，而也得一桶汽油可上路。可自由自在的到旅，是多人的想，台我也曾想在退休後，性玩到哪算哪，露、睡上或住旅 ( 洗洗澡 )，可惜迄今都未。
