此曲加-美Buffalo Springfield於1967自第2《Buffalo Springfield Again》中所放出的曲，唯是作另首曲《Bluebird》的B面。

此曲的主唱加拿大歌手Neil Young，此位老兄於幼年不幸感染了「小症病毒 (Polio)」，治健，但未完全康，至成年後仍受其危害，下背部椎骨被手切除，故他常穿戴著背部支架，即使演唱也是如此。除了脊椎，Young患有「青少年糖尿病」及「症」。而此首《Mr. Soul》Neil Young早期在金山一演出後作 ( 以是表演的一部份 )所，歌曲述了Young的人，以及名和名星的漠。曲感有「迷幻」的味道。

Buffalo Springfield才成立了2年左右(1966-1968)，即因有吸毒被捕等事件而解散，也留下了由吉他手Stepen Stills所的典的政治 ( 反 ) 歌曲《For What It's Worth》。之後，Neil Young加入Crosby，Stills & Nash三人而成CSNY，因Stills和Nash了Rita Coolidge吃醋而解散 ( 1968-1970，之後又度重。)。
