加拿大女歌手Anne Murray於1969以一首《Snowbird》出名，之後也有多首歌曲入榜，而1974翻唱The Beatles的《You Won't See Me》得第8名後，成始下滑沉寂了起。直至1978的首《You Needed Me》，才又重回排行榜，不得了冠，她回了一座葛美。

Anne Murray事後接受到，其她不首歌有好成，因她在唱就被歌曲感到崩。依此曲的作者Randy Goodrum的法，是首於「件而不值接受(？)的 ( unconditional undeserved love )」的歌曲。「You Needed Me」是去式，去的多不完美都有人支持和助，而今呢？或也有藉古今之意 (？)。歌曲的各有不同，多友照歌容，只有上帝才如此地大私，而之是一首「福音歌曲」。至於「You Needed Me」直成「我需要你」，看歌上下文，似尚通，唯是否真正符合，恐仍待由英文高手疑了。

1999，男子Boyzone ( 男孩特 ) 翻唱此曲，在英曲排行榜得冠，唱片也出超20。
