很多人可能不知道，《Joy To The World》原是一首童歌，身兼村歌手的Hoyt Axton一部90分的卡通片〈快之歌〉，描述一群孩子在奇幻上的冒故事。但此因故未能完成，Hoyt Axton就已好的歌曲分送歌唱界的朋友。
Hoyt AxtonThree Dog Nught示演唱此曲後，的三位主唱有位表示反，另位主唱Chuck Negron，需要一首「好玩」的歌，以便大家可以共同，而且反正中的歌曲也不太。在心插柳的情下 ( 然，有歌曲的奏化 )，想到此曲一天，成了1971年告示牌排行榜的冠曲，也是Three Dog Night三首冠曲中最知名的一首。
此曲最典的部份，是在始的句歌---「Jeremiah was a bullfrog，Was a good friend of mine；I never understood a single word he said，But I helped him a-drink his wine。」Jeremiah在中是「先知」，和bullforg ( 牛蛙 ) 有何？又扯上了喝酒，引起了大的好奇和揣。而Hoyt Axton事後接受透露，只是他便掰的，也不具有何特意。
「Three Dog Night」澳洲原住民的。由於天在太冷，常在夜狗睡在一起取暖，而引申「寒冷的夜」的意思。故Three Dog Night一度被是澳洲的。
