此曲首由村歌手Jim Mundy於1976唱行，但只得到排行榜第86名。1977，美村三重唱Dave & Sugar翻唱此曲，拿下了告示牌村榜的第2名。

Dave & Sugar於1975由男主唱Dave Rowland找了位女生共同成，走的是「村流行」曲。此三人的第一首曲翻唱Dr. Hook的歌曲《Queen of the Silver Dollar》(1972)，即打排行榜第25名，隔年行的第2首曲《The Door Is Always Open》( 同 )，即得排行榜的冠。「人是非多」，也是，之後女更迭多次。80年代初期，Dave Rowland，也就解散了。2018，Rowland因中症去世，享年74。

Knee Deep的字面意思是「深及膝」，而另也有「深陷於……之中」之意。看在歌曲中意思都有涵。歌名似乎可「你到法自拔」，倘是遇到，而方又根本不在意，那可真的是「兮兮」了。
