Billy Joe Shaver是什知名度的村歌手，他的一首《Willy the Wandering Gypsy and Me》被已是大牌歌手的Waylon Jennings到後，邀Shaver替他歌。Shaver到了村音之都Nashville ( ) 後，竟然了6月都未能到Waylon Jennings，然是Waylon邀的事忘了，之後，Shaver靠著一位DJ的忙，於在音室的口堵到了Waylon，Waylon想以100美元打Shaver，Shaver除了拒怒：要是Waylon不答他的歌，要好好的揍Waylon一 ( 上一架 )。Waylon最後妥，他之前的那首《Willy the……》，然後由Shaver再唱一首，若喜，由Shaver行下一首，否，就Shaver。果是Waylon定和Shaver合作出一。

Waylon的新《Honky Tonk Heroes》於1973行，其中的歌曲除了一首《We Had It All》，其它全由Shaver自己或是和他人所合。此首《You Asked Me To》的作者是由Shaver和Waylon共同名，也是中成最好的一首，在村榜得第8名。另外值得一提的是，此被是Outlaw Country( 非法村 )的金石，是outlaw，其和法律一些都有，只是跳了村音( 含器，像使用吉他等 )，另注入了一些及其他元素，也因此「非法村」音，很可能跨越「村」及「流行」域，「一吃」的果然是唱片可多一些。像70年代Glen Campbell的《Rhinestone Cowboy》及Olivia Newton John的《Let Me Be There》，均通吃的典型歌曲。

了情，只要女生提出要求，多男生都是戮力以赴。但，在性的之中，多女生只是男生作「工具人」了。歌曲中的男生自知替女友「做牛做」被旁人取笑是「傻瓜」，但只要能得女方青就一切都值得了。而往往的下，亦如歌所述，倘方要求他「 ( 蛋 )」，他也是照的。何其悲哉！
