此首《Gloria》原大利歌手Umberto Tozzi人所合，在1979由自己唱行，成相不，不在大利排行榜得第2名，在其他洲家也都打前10名。之後有英歌手 ( 後也兼作人 ) Jonathan King歌改英文翻唱，成普普，1979在英排行榜只到第65名。1982，美女歌手Laura Branigan翻唱英文版，成可大大的不一，在告示牌排行榜停留了36，更上了的位置，是在美，唱片就出了百以上，然也成了曲。甚至因此曲，Laura Branigan年被提名葛美「最佳女歌手」，可惜未。
此曲原大利的歌，的是位Gloria是男主角心目中的女神，然白天的日子不好，但晚上想一想她，心情就得了解放。其位Gloria只是男主角定的目型人物，希望某一天能找到，承好好的她 ( 其是有幻不切 )。而英文版的歌大意是位Gloria年已逝，仍自己是「人迷」，而在行上旁人有些看不下去。一人倘若「自知之明」，也是可悲的。
Laura Branigan在之前，曾任加拿大歌手Leonard Cohen赴洲巡演的合音歌手，她唱歌，歌喉及技巧，然也有其他首像是《Self Control》、《Ti Amo》等受歌友喜的歌曲，但此首《Gloria》毫疑是她的招牌歌。Laura Branigan於1978婚，但先生於1996因癌症身故(59)，Laura自己在2004因瘤於睡中世，享年52。
