美村Poco的「踏板弦吉他」手Rusty Young，1976一位想唱片作人的朋友的要求，能否一首於「西部牛仔」的歌曲，俾便他替老牌牛仔演Roy Rogers出一唱片。Rusty Young想起1973Poco在克拉荷州巡演，曾看一本小子，是於美境拓期，一位奇女子Rose Dunn的故事，而之成了此首《Rose of Cimarron》。歌好了，朋友要替Roy Roger作的事毫消息，倒是被Poco的Paul Cotton和Timothy B. Schmit到了，建由Poco唱此曲。
「Rose of Cimarron」其就是Rose Dunn的 ( Cimarron/西隆--是克拉荷州最西的一 )，Rose Dunn在14了George Newcomb，位Newcomb老兄曾加西部期的匪Dalton，後又知名匪Bill Doolin ( 771/ Doolin Dalton ) 的Wild Bunch。Rose Dunn和George Newcomb批人在一起，主要是替他弄些吃的、理口，有也赴小品。1893，Newcomb同夥和警方生 ( Battle of Ingalls )，Newcomb倒在街，且看已，Rose Dunn所住旅拿了子及福上前去，在Newcomb填充子，拿著福向警方回，也因此Newcomb及Rose Dunn均得以逃。唯Rose Dunn行的法，警方未有作如是的描述，反而Newcomb在逸去前，只促的了。

Rose Dunn有位哥哥，原也是非良民的不法份子 ，後成做「金人」，自Dunn Brothers。1895，Newcomb的金已5000美元，且死活不。某日，Newcomb和同夥Charley Pierce去到Dunn家的牧，然是Rose Dunn欲提供藏匿的所，遭Dunn兄弟追到其等。第二天，Dunn兄弟人的放上，去金，想到Newcomb竟然死出呻吟及要水喝，Dunn兄弟的回是再上一。
