在南天的座(Corvus) ，我大六千光年的二大型星系生了碰撞。在耗年的冗事件中，二星系(NGC 4038和NGC 4039)的星不生互撞，只有它巨大的分子和埃受到影，因而在中心附近的宇宙骸中，一系列猛爆的星形成活。幅涵大五十光年天的影像，呈了新生的星以及被重力潮汐力所出的物。所造成的曲造，星系得星系 the Antennae 的。
