好吧原来不是英语母语者。

After a glance on the homepage, it seems that boostnote matches my needs on online notes, maybe I will have a try on it later, cuz I am not in the habit of taking notes :)

Last time I used notion, making a note about money I spend on a travel using its "database", I feel its statistics feature is little bit simple, which I can only do some basic calculation like sum or average on A SINGLE column.

What I want to do that time can be described using SQL like: SELECT sum(cost) FROM trip_cost WHERE tag = 'plane';

Since boostnote is a product facing programmers, implementing a subset of SQL may be not a bad idea if there were some feature about spreadsheets. But implementing SQL seems too heavy for a note app?

简单看了一下，感觉没有什么亮点。说实话这些功能市面上是个成熟的笔记服务就有，用 Boost Note 完全没必要，而且新产品相比成熟产品也更“不可靠”。就不用说日常的高频使用了。
另外这个付费计划真的有点恶心到我，付费就多了 2GB 的云存储，功能相比免费版没有扩展，$3。性价比真不高。之后扩容还要 1$/GB，虽然的确笔记用不了多少空间，但这定价是不是性价比太低了....

I have free lifelong team membership of notion. But now I mostly use Bear, basically everyday. I tried boostnote during its initial releases.It needs at least one killer feature to convince people to use it.

I think you have to consider two questions: First, why do developers switch to your product? There are several markdown editors that support syntax highlighting, Boost Note just another one. Second, why do users pay when they use your product? Cloud storage is not a good idea. Outside of China, everyone has a dropbox.

Just kidding: maybe you can make it to be a VSCode extension
- It is built base on electron
- It can render markdown
- You even add vim keymap
- All you need to do is to let the extension access your cloud storage

some key featue for Chinese user:
- Webpage content collection, including format
- Share note to members/public
- Sync speed & cloud storage size. Similar products often use Chinese local cloud service and ISP, because internet in China is special you know...

The new version of boostnote does not satisfy me. 1. there are so many style bugs that it looks like a degeneration. 2. some good and potential features have gone, posting a article etc. I tought it would be able to post an article not just to wordpress but hexo, however, the new version makes me disappointed.
In short, I do not believe that the new boostnote is a excellent note application now.

I have used Boosnote for over 2 years. This is the only note-taking application I can find that satisfies my requirements:

1. Support Vim mode
2. Support Markdown
3. Small and fast

A few things suggestions:
1. The word counting breaks for Chinese characters. I hope this bug can be fixed in the future.
2. It would be nice to have a calendar to indicate the dates.

Now, I am using Boosnote for my learning notes and DayOne for my dairy.
I use DayOne only because Boosnote does not have the calendar.

Although Boostnote is not perfect, I think this is the best note application I have used. Nice job!

1. Boostnote is huge (dmg 70mb, app 200+mb). The download took me 5 minutes. In 2020 this is a crime. BTW I am using one of the fastest corp network in the SF bay area.
2. The corp firewall forbids me from launching this app. Maybe you can submit a MAS version?

Not sure if it's a good idea to charge based on storage. I would prefer something similar to dropbox, where customers get charged to have dropbox enabled on multiple devices.

Also there should be a clarification/emphasis on the security of cloud storage. I would prefer well-established apps to handle my stuff in the cloud. Or maybe customer can opt-out the cloud storage to secure their privacy.

The market for online note app is almost saturated in China. As you know, people are used to OneNote, Evernote, Notion, etc. They are famous in China as well as out of the country. Hence, it's really hard to popularize a new note app in this kind of market.

Several suggests:
1. Discount is always welcome to everyone.
2. Ads for the people who really need the note app is helpful, like engineers.
