“Expectations”是 expectation 的复数形式，常指对某人、某事或未来结果的期待、预期、期望（标准）。在日常语境中既可以指对结果的预测性期待，也可以指对行为/表现的要求与标准。（另有较少见的含义如“怀孕”在旧用法中也可表示“in expectation of a child”，但现代英语中多用 pregnancy。）
